Creating Your First Stable

It all starts somewhere doesn't it? Here we go creating your stable and joining the game. Here is where I made my first two mistakes.

Mistake 1 Name:
The thing I wanted to point out is filling out your display name. The display name is your forum name and please make everyone's lives easier and have it be similar to your stable name. It's difficult when you first start out for others to know who you are if it's different. Or be sure to create a signature for yourself, so the forums knows who you are.

Mistake 2 Selecting of your horses:
Here we go, you get your first two horses for free, but which ones to choose? Well first you have to pick two out of Endless Vista something that I am sure has scared potential players away (at the time of typing this there is over 6,650 horses in Endless Vista to choose from.)

To make things easier what you want to do is once click the list that shows all of Endless Vista or search by owner using the studbook search. Start at the top and highlight Id. From there scroll all the way to the bottom then hold down shift and click on the final horse's dam on the list (all the way to the right). Then we're gonna copy this and paste it into a brand new excel sheet.

For those new or not good with excel, I am attaching photos(you can click on the photos to enlarge to make it easier to see.)

We're gonna highlight and click on the 1.

Next click on the sort and filet, then filter.

Now we're gonna hide the horses we don't want. Click on the tab where Status is and make sure only the racer box has a check mark in it

Now let's get rid of some of the older horses for your benefit. Starting off, you're best bet would be to just click on the bottom 3-4 higher years. That will give you only 2, 3 and 4 year olds.

Now we still have a big list! But it's more manageable as you only have about 800 horses left. From there you can look at it's race history, winnings, click on the name that will take you to the horses page and check it's AR. The Ability Report is a guide to give you an idea on the ability of your horse. They are not 100% accurate and sometimes they are wrong. They give you a general idea of what your horse be like, the only way to know for sure is to race your horse yourself.

There is a way to find horse stats after they have raced. In order to do this you need to download the racing files. You will find those files under Racing, then Results. From there you need to download the results of the week you need, it may require you to go into the archives. Basically once you download the results, open the folder on your computer and find the race you are looking for (It may ask you to pick a program in which to open it with, if so click notepad.) Here is an example of race 21590 of my horse Beginner.

Beginner,Beginne, 77 , 87 , 87 , 74 , 9564.876 , 7941.012 , 833 , 5 , 6 , 3 , 100 , 3 , 3 , 0 , 4 , 4 , 2 , 120 , 124 , 3.728022 ,, 4 , 90 , 4.111111 , 95 , 95 , 1 , 3 , 9 , 1.509914 , 88.5 , 1949 , 652 , 494 , 2 , 3 , 5 , 5 , 8357 , 23.55449 , 46.80107 , 70.4372 , 94.29728 , 106.2385

The first number is Gate Speed or Break Speed
The second number is Early Speed
The third number is Top Speed
The fourth number is Stamina
The seventh number is Kick

So for this race Beginner has a Break Speed of 77, a Early Speed of 87, a Top Speed of 87 and a Stamina of 74 and a Kick of 833. These numbers can change based on track, track conditions and age in the horse, but generally you will notice the are pretty much the same during the horses prime.

I'll have more on this and horse stats in future blogs, for now you can check out the links below on the Ostego Report.

I didn't do this selecting my first two and I selected two duds, one being 7 years old and completely done.
